OUTSTANDING LATERAL THINKING PUZZLES

It is a saying that our mind is never at rest. It is working 24 hours. Now let us see how your mind will solve the outstanding lateral thinking puzzles.

THE CLEVER DETECTIVE
When the detective arrived at the scene of the crime, he had no idea who the criminal was. He turned to his assistance and said:” We are looking for someone with the initials A & S.” How did he know?

Hints-
  • The crime was a robbery
  • It took place at a border crossing
  • The detective saw what was missing

THE SILENT ROBBER
The manager of a factory was very concerned to learn that valuable copper had gone missing again during the night. The security guards assured him that the security was very tight and no one could have gotten in or out of the factory. What was happening?

Hints-
  • The security was very tight with alarms, lights, and guard dogs to deter and detect intruders.
  • The copper that was taken was in the form of balls of wire.
  • The copper was being systematically removed, but not by a criminal.

A DIFFERENCE IN ATTITUDE
The driver of an underground train made an announcement some of his passengers and amused the other passengers. What was it?

Hints-
  • He made two announcements; the first was a warning.
  • Some passengers got off the train
  • The honest passengers laughed when they heard his second announcement.

INSECURE
A new, seemingly, superior security device for houses is marketed. However, in practice, it turns out to be inferior to existing, conventional systems. Why?

Hints-
  • The new security device was designed to deter burglars, but in some ways, it helped them.
  • The new device involved very strong lights that lit up certain areas brilliantly.
  • The strong lights also produced something else.

DEADLY TALK
The speech killed the President. How come?

Hints-
The President of the U.S was killed as an indirect result of a speech he made.
  • He was not assassinated. He died accidentally.
  • The speech was his inauguration speech.
  • It was given in WASHINGTON-IN March 1841.
